Dambulla Temple is around 750-800 steps up from the bottom of here. We found out that the ticket office can actually be reached a bit further up and was accessible by tuk tuk/car but our driver had stopped us right at the bottom. Maybe he thought we could use the exercise! (Probably right) #dambullatemple #dambulla #srilanka #visitsrilanka #lovesrilanka #hellosrilanka #travelblogger
Beautiful Matale Temple. I just love the intricate design and vibrant colours ❤️ . . . #matale #mataletemple #muthumariamman #srilanka #visitsrilanka #lovesrilanka #srilankadaily #lovesrilanka #travelbloggerlife
A view of Kandy from the top of Buddha’s head 😇 I feel like I didn’t see enough of Kandy to get a great feeling for the city. If or when we go back, I’d love to spend a day or two just wandering through the marketplace, seeing what people are selling, smelling all of the different scents and just watching the world go by. #kandysrilanka #srilanka #visitsrilanka #lovesrilanka #srilankadaily #hellosrilanka #srilankadiaries #travelphotography #travelgram #sceneryphotography #srilankatravel #srilankatraveltips #bahirawakandatemple #srilankatemple #exploreeverywhere
As soon as our bare feet touched that bottom step, the skies opened and the rain poured down! This is Bahirawakanda Temple in Kandy. Buddha is seated in Nirvana pose at just a ‘mere’ 88 feet tall and is one of the largest Buddha statues in Sri Lanka. It really is quite an awesome site to behold! For a small donation, we climbed the slippery steps to the top of Buddha to take in the scenery of the city of Kandy from above. There were very few tourists there at the time we visited but I’ve read that the best time to be there is for sunset or at night time when all of Kandy is lit up with thousands of dazzling lights. To the locals and travellers, I’d like to ask this: What’s your favourite thing about Kandy? #kandysrilanka #srilanka #visitsrilanka #lovesrilanka #srilankadaily #hellosrilanka #srilankadiaries #travelphotography #travelgram #sceneryphotography #srilankatravel #srilankatraveltips #bahirawakandatemple #srilankatemple #exploreeverywhere
