We’ve bought a home! The journey so far…

Since writing our last post things have quite swiftly moved forward with the completion of our home.

We have a shell which we’ve physically entered and seen inside for the very first time since the apartment block was just a blueprint. I remember standing in our open plan kitchen/living area and thinking “Wow, this is real now.” I guess there was also some part of me which thought that the size was going to be a heck of a lot smaller than it was because I was ecstatic when I realised just how much space we’d have to play with. Yes, I’d seen the plans a zillion times but my perception of size is clearly skewed.

The main reason for going up to the flat was to meet the electrician to point out all of the areas that were going to need electrical points but once we’d done that we were free to roam about by ourselves* to take measurements.

*Yes, by ourselves with no hard hats or steel toe shoes. Welcome to health & safety in Malta!

We left feeling excited about what was soon to come and celebrated with Pizza Hut (which we regret eating every time because cheese).

Plenty of sunshine from our balcony!

Also, just last week we picked our kitchen and put a deposit down!

We’ve become so adult now.

Except I still feel like I don’t have a clue about much and still get befuddled by simple things sometimes.

And we’ve argued about plug sockets.

Plug sockets.

Is this what it’s like to be an adult?

Whatever it is, it’s all part of the journey and we’ve just got to ride the waves.
